The Man Can

Man Can

We’d buy this just for the name and the packaging.  In addition to the great name and paint-can packaging, The Man Can includes everything you need to get clean after a day of manliness (splitting wood, fighting bears, fly fishing, robbing trains, etc).  A bar of Fisherman’s Soap, Spicy Shave Gel, Bay Oil Rum, a tin of Fisherman’s Hand Butter, and a super-scratchy scrub mitt will leave you smooth and clean, so all the ladies will swoon.  The included paint can opener also doubles as a bottle opener.  The Man Can ($50)

Beta Inkless Pocket Pen

Okay, now we’ve seen it all.  Not only does the Beta Pocket Inkless Pen have a great modern design, it also has one really cool trick up it’s sleeve.  It writes without ink.  Utilizing a special metal alloy nib on the front of the pen, the Beta is able to write on most paper surfaces without any need for ink.  It writes and responds similar to a pencil, yet your words, doodles, or phone numbers, cannot be smudged or rubbed out.  You can draw your own conclusions, but color us impressed.  Beta Pocket Inkless Pen ($35)

Pinup Girl Matches

Lighters are overrated.  Next time fire is needed, pull out your box of pin up girl matches and get to work.  Classy (and classic) artwork on the box is tasteful and vintage, and the matches feature black heads, which besides looking cool can also be lit with a high-power red laser.  Sailor Jerry Pin Up Girl Matches ($2)

Glycine Stratoforte

If you’re going to spend your time up in the air, you’d better have a watch that can keep up.  Powered by an ETA 7751 automatic movement, the Stratoforte displays the current time in addition to GMT, a 12-hour chronograph, date, day, month, and the current moon phase, all with a 48-hour power reserve.  If you find yourself changing timezones more often then your underwear, this might be the watch for you.  Glycine Stratoforte Compliqué

Suunto Core All Black

Finally, a wrist top computer that doesn’t look like, well, a computer.  The new Core All Black from Suunto takes the ABC system (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass) and puts it into a sleek design that looks so good that you just might find yourself wearing it everyday.  When you are outside, the Core will help you track your vertical for the day using it’s new automatic Altimeter/Barometer system that will detect when you’re moving in order to switch between the altimeter and barometer.  The barometer also has a storm alert feature for rapidly descending pressure.  Combined with the built in thermometer, it’s the perfect early warning system for getting out of Dodge.  Finally, the built-in compass features a rotating bezel for traditional compass-duty, as well as a new one-touch function to sight, lock, and follow a bearing.  It’s also smart enough to predict the sunset, so you’ll know exactly when to get your head out of the clouds and down to the bar.  Suunto Core All Black ($285)

The Olive Branch Shower Gel

lush olive branch

It used to be that specially-made soaps came in two scent categories: fruity and flowery.  But Lush takes luxury bathing to a whole new level in the Olive Branch Shower Gel, fusing organic olive oil with vine leaves, mandarin oranges, and sea salt for a total sensory experience anyone can enjoy.  It will leave you feeling so clean, moisturized, and invigorated, shower time just might become your new favorite time of day.  Once you smell it, we think that you’ll be hooked, but if not, Lush workers are always happy to give out free samples, as they make everything right there in the store.  ($9.25-25.75).

Bed Head Matte Separation Workable Wax

Looking to keep your style in check?  We dig the new Matte Seperation Workable Wax from Bed Head.  This is their first official foray into the men’s grooming market, and if this is a preview of what’s in store, we’re all in for something good.  Bed Head calls it a medium wax.  We’re not sure how you rate wax, but we call it strong enough to tame “hangover head”, but at the same time workable enough that that young lady who just ran her hand through your hair won’t end up with “goop hand”.  And it’s a travel friendly size, weighing in under 3 oz, allowing you to carry it through TSA.

Samsung 8500 Series LED TV

504x_samsung8500

Samsung has just announced their first LED-backlit LCD televisions for this year with the launch of the 8500 series. This TV has a ton of sweet features like local dimming (the ability to turn off clusters of LED’s to give better natural color), a Yahoo widget for streaming video, and The Ultra Clear Panel to improve image quality based on a room’s ambient light. The best part is they still retain that razor thin look at only 1.6 inches thick. There will be two versions a 46″ ($3600) and a 55″ ($4500) both due out this September. This is surely an impressive television to show off that Blu-Ray collection!
