Fuego Element Grill

Fuego Element

This is exactly what we’d expect to see if you sat down a former Director of Industrial Design from Apple and told him to design a grill.  In fact, that’s exactly what Fuego did.  With the help of Robert Brunner, they created the ultimate grill for city-dwellers, or those that simply want a great looking (and performing) grill.  Underneath the elegant exterior, the element packs a punch.  It has two independent flame rings, designed to output up to 15,000 BTU’s per hour.  To hold your grillables, there’s a 346 square inch cast iron cooking grill that can also be switched out for a pizza stone or a griddle.  They even tied in a swing-out work tray on the Element 01 and Element 02.  Feugo Element Grill ($450-$650)

Vic Firth Mario Batali Salt and Pepper Mills

MAR12SM11

Think you know salt and pepper?  Think again.  Salt and pepper mills have been around for ages, but it took a percussionist to get it right.  Vic Firth mills are made in the USA and carry a full lifetime warranty.  The 12″ size gives you plenty of capacity so you won’t run dry during your next backyard BBQ.  The mills are adjustable and refillable through their removable tops.  They’re available in a variety of hardwoods and colors (we prefer Cherry).  Now you can rock out like Matt Cameron every time you cook.  Vic Firth Salt and Pepper Mills ($50 each)

All-Clad LTD Nonstick Grande Grill Pan

A lot of major cities have laws against barbecuing on balconies, and while there’s a lot we are willing to do for a choice cut of steak (helping our buddies move furniture, taking our girlfriend to a chickflick) getting evicted just isn’t one of them.  That’s why every guy has got to have a stove-top grill pan.  This ingenious specimen of cookery from the All-Clad folks heats up quickly and evenly (thanks to the layer of aluminum inside) and it’s nonstick surface means that you don’t have to layer your food in butter or oil just to be able to get it onto your plate.  Even if you do live some place that has access to outdoor grills, this is definitely going to save you a lot of pain come winter.  ($99.99)

Intrigue Chocolate Truffles

largetruffle

Perfectly bite-sized, intensely flavorful, irresistibly meltable, Intrigue is the king of the chocolate experience.  Head chocolatier Aaron Barthel hand makes each indelible creation with only fresh ingrediants–there’s no cutting corners.  Ever.  And it shows.  We have tasted several of their unique flavors, and find that all of our diverse palates are always satisfied.  In particular we have found great enjoyment in Saint Basil, Fresh Mint, Smokin’ Scotch, and Orchid, among so many others, that we recommend the Truffle of the Month Club as a sure way to try them all.  One warning: if you are ordering as a gift, you may want to double it, as it’s possible to eat them all yourself before they ever reach your recipient’s hands.  ($10 and up).

Lindt Excellence Chilli Chocolate

Excellence.  An appropriate name for this sweet delicacy.  Lindt, a UK based chocolatier, mixes premium red chilli with their signature dark chocolate.  The result is a sweet and spicy experience that you simply have to try.  Try it with a bold syrah or meaty cabernet for an after-dinner treat.  It’s a little difficult to find in the US, but well worth the extra effort.
